In the monograph on the extensive archive and source materials the sotsio- economic, political and cultural aspects of the mastery of North-Caucasian edge are examined by Russia. Are revealed historical theoretical prerequisites and factors of the origin of enlightenment in the North Caucasus, where diverse interactions of autochthonic ethnoses, based on their culture, which was been starting point in further formation and development of school formation and enlightenment thought, were main components. The latter became possible only after the connection of the North Caucasus to Russia and the subsequent policy of empire, which was being manifested in the formation of it as sufficient integral administrative region of Russia, which had the modernist type of the economy and the nature of complex society. This served as the basis of development in the edge of the system of public education, which was being consisted not only in the origin of written language in mountain peoples, but also in the period of the formation in them of formation. As a result this appears the pleiad of the mountain thinkers, who subsequently under the management of Russian science will embark on the path of the enlightenment of their peoples. In the work the activity of many of them is analyzed and attention in their pedagogy- enlightenment views is accentuated. Monograph is intended by all, who deals with Caucasian problems.

В монографии на обширных архивных и источниковых материалах рассматриваются социо-экономические, политические и культурные аспекты освоения Северокавказского края Россией. Выявляются историко-теоретические предпосылки и факторы зарождения просветительства на Северном Кавказе, где главными составляющими являлись разнообразные взаимодействия автохтонных этносов, основанные на их культуре, явившейся отправным пунктом в дальнейшем становлении и развитии школьного образования и просветительской мысли. Последние стали возможны лишь после присоединения Северного Кавказа к России и последующей политики империи, проявлявшейся в формировании его как достаточно целостного административного региона России, имевшего модернистский тип экономики и характер многосоставного общества. Это послужило основой развития в крае системы народного образования, заключавшейся не только в зарождении письменности у горских народов, но и в периоде становления у них образования. В результате этого появляется плеяда горских мыслителей, которые впоследствии под руководством русской науки станут на путь просветительства своих народов. В работе проанализирована деятельность наиболее выдающихся из них и акцентировано внимание на их педагогико-просветительских воззрениях.
